MADE M Printing Made my day :)

I only gave the approved copy yesterday lunch time. I was amazed when this box with 10,000 copies of my flyers arrived on our doorstep this morning! I didn't ask for it to be rushed. In fact, I told them that it's ok if they can't make it this week. I guess it's their way of impressing a first time client hehe.

Now I'm all set for the wedding fair this coming June 23-24 at the World Trade Center! yay

I've had not so good experiences with printing press. Some don't deliver on time...or don't even deliver  and just be gone with your money and all possible way to contact them. Some just don't meet your expectations. It can be really frustating especially for someone who means real business right? And for the first time...at last! I had a very smooth transaction with a printing press. Alright, I'll name them. It's MADE M. Their contact numbers are in the photo below so if you need some printing services, I highly recommend them! I'm not associated or paid by them. Just a happy and satisfied customer :)

Staff are easy to talked to and very professional. They have proper processes for transactions. They also have an office so you know where to go to if you have concerns :)

Lancome Blanc Expert With White Sapphire Mineral Foundation

I try to limit my everyday makeup for only 5 mins or less. That's why I like using a powder foundation for it because not only it's perfect for my oily skin but it's easier and faster to apply too.

For the past week, I've been using a powder foundation from Lancome, the White Sapphire. It's pretty interesting because it's a mineral foundation (perfect for those who have sensitive skin), has SPF 29 PA+++ (you don't need to wear a Sunblock underneath to avoid too much layers of products on your face), it's specifically made for Asian skin, gives enough coverage even when used alone and contains ingredients that helps brightens skin.

I got this cute compact for my powder foundation. It's lightweight and doesn't take too much space on my bag.

I like how easy it is to put and remove the foundation on the case but still sturdy.

I got the shade BO-035 using the Lancome's online complexion finder. Try it yourself! I like it because it's pretty easy to use and straightforward. You just have to select your closest skin tone from the models on the website. You'll also be given some tips on foundation and concealer applications and which type is most suitable for your skin type.

When I received the product, I thought I got the wrong shade because it looked too dark for me. But when I used it, it blended perfectly on my skin making it look brighter and fresh. Love it!

It made my skin look flawless yey. See how well it covers but still looking natural?

Products used on the after photo:

Celeteque Dermoscience Acne Solutions Gel Moisturizer
Lancome Blanc Expert Mineral with White Sapphier Complex
Maybelline Brow Definist
Majolica Majorca Black Liquid Automatic Liner
Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara
Paul and Joe Face Color for cheeks
Maxfactor lipstick
and oh! I used a light Graftobian cream foundation shade on the bridge of my nose before the powder foundation

Let me know what you think :)

Rave: Loreal Hydrafresh Toner and Mattifying Icy Gel

I have combination to oily skin type. And through the years that I've been doing makeup, I've encountered a lot of people who have oily skin. In fact, 70% of my past clients have oily skin (that's just my estimate hehe). So for the past years, I've been searching for the best anti-shine/mattifying product. I've tried some good ones but I'm not satisfied with the outcome when layered with makeup.

I'd like to share with you guys the products I've recently tried on myself and on my past wedding gigs and find really effective in controlling the oilies and shine: Loreal Hydrafresh Anti-shine toner & Loreal Hydrafresh Durably Hydrating and Mattifying Icy gel.

What I like:

- Mattifies the skin for approximately 5 hours but leaves it supple and doesn't make the skin dry.
- Doesn't make the foundation cakey
- Cool and refreshing feeling during application
- I like the minty smell. (not everyone likes it though)

What I don't like:
- The packaging is nice but a bit heavy especially when I bring it on makeup gigs.
- For hygienic purposes, you should always have a spatula or cutips if you don't have it to get the product. For some, this might be inconvenient.

Last Saturday, I did makeup for two weddings. Both of my brides concern is the oiliness of their skin. I did very minimal retouch on both before the start of reception, just a few blots of tissue to remove the sweat and light touches of loose powder. And when I saw their photos at the reception, I was glad to see that the makeup stayed in place and their skin looked glowy and not oily.

Lazada, the new shopping site in the Philippines

A few weeks ago, I attended the launch of Lazada, a new e-commerce site, at their office in Makati. I'm sure anyone who loves shopping online would be excited about this. It's like the Amazon of the Philippines where you could shop anything with cheaper shipping cost. Imagine doing your grocery and shopping all other needs in just one site, one payment method is very very convenient.

Watch it grow as more things become available on their website. Now that internet is very readily available and more merchants are gaining people's trust...I'm sure this will be a hit in the future.

Check out Lazada.com.ph now :)

Reunion Photoshoot with Dub

Dub is one of those who helped me when I was starting my makeup career. She contacted me a few weeks ago asking if I can do her hair and makeup for a shoot. How could I say no?...after 3 years or more, I missed working with her. Some of my clients might recognize her because I used one of the shots from our bridal photoshoot on my flyers. Many say that she looks like Charlene Gonzales...I kept on insisting but she really can't see daw. But whatever Dub, the photos show that you bloomed into a really beautiful lady :D

My Summer Products Must-Haves

The heat this summer is so intense that if you stay under the sun for just a few minutes, your skin will be damaged. So for today's post, I wanna share the products I've been using to keep my skin protected and what makeup I use to compliment them.

I use this two newly released BB creams by Estee Lauder (SPF 30) and Loreal (SPF 50). For normal days, I use either of them alone or as a base then topped with the Paul & Joe powder foundation for more coverage.

Celeteque lip moisturizer also with SPF for my lips, waterproof eyeliner from Majolica Majorca and waterproof mascara from Maxfactor. Bronzer from Artdeco or a peach blush from covergirl for that healthy summer glow.

How about you? What are your staple products this summer?
