Majolica Majorca Lingerie Pore Cover Review

I purchased this Majolica Majorca Lingerie Pore Cover for my clients who have open pores. I haven't met one since I bought it so I tried it on myself first.

Majolica Majorca Pore Cover

I love wearing it as a primer because it mattifies my face really well. I didn't blog about it right away because open pores is not a major problem for me. Thank God :)

Until yesterday at the "Taste of the world" Grand Food Tasting at Oceana Culinary, I had the privilege of doing a trial makeup for Christine, a 2012 bride-to-be. Her only problem with her skin is the oiliness and open pores. She told me that covering those is her major worry for her wedding. So I put the Majolica Majorca Lingerie Pore Cover to test :) And it worked perfectly!

anne_beforeafter2

My camera wasn't able to capture the tiny details but I and Christine were so happy with the result. Her pores on the nose and cheeks diminished after the makeover.

I did some product shots for you :)

Majolica Majorca Pore Cover

It comes in a very light, chic and easy squeeze tube. I like that I get the right amount of the product I need with this kind of packaging.

It dries fast, seems whitish at first but dissolves once it sets. It also has SPF 20 ++.

My only concern (but it's just minor) is that I can't read the ingredients because they're all written in Japanese haha.

Closing this post with hugs and kisses to this new favorite product :)

Wedding Hair and Makeup: Rei Valunzuela

I prayed hard yesterday for God to make the rain stop. And he did!

My client Rei (even though stressed with the weather we had since yesterday) turned out to be a blushing bride. I was thrilled to do her hair and makeup as her wedding is one of the most unique I've ever known. She told me that since they've been married legally for 2 years already, they didn't want to make their church wedding too formal. So they invited various local rock bands to play at their wedding reception held at Root196. I wish I should have stayed...I miss watching that kind of gig with my hubby :)

Rei's wedding theme is glam rock. She had papaya, pink, purple and black for her motif. So for her makeup, I used purples with just the right depth to make her eyes pop. I darkened it a bit after the church ceremony

I also did the hair and makeup of her mom. I chose to apply a thin layer of cream foundation so that it won't settle on her lines. I think she loved her youthful glow after the makeover. Right mommy?

For her hair, she requested a bun. I've mastered this hairstyle a bit already as this is the request of most of my brides lately.

Sorry for the short post. I've neglected this blog a bit lately as I've been busy with makeup jobs. Hope everyone's doing great :)

Bridal Makeup Tips

Photobucket

Bridal makeup must look natural, fresh, glowing and timeless. As simple as it may seem, most makeup artists would agree that it is one of the hardest to master. Achieving a flawless look by covering imperfections without making the bride look piled up with makeup takes a a considerable amount of technique and skill. Also, since weddings are incredibly hectic with every minute photographed or videotaped, the makeup should be durable enough to last the entire day with no or minimal retouch.

MUAs often offer traditional and airbrush makeup application. The difference between the two is the technique of application. Traditional makeup is the conventional way of applying makeup using a brush or sponge while airbrush makeup is applied through an airbrush gun which allows a seamless and thin application. Most brides prefer the latter because the thinner the coat is, the faster it will dry, the longer it will last, and the nicer it will look. However, the product sprayed through an airbrush gun could be also applied with a sponge or with a foundation brush but the effect depends on the tool used.

Thankful and sleepy :)

This is a photo of me at my booth last weekend at The Philippine Wedding Summit 2011. It's a simple and clean booth just like what I preferred. Nothing fussy as I don't want to spend so much money with it :) But I'll definitely make some improvements the next time I join :)

at Themes and Motifs Bridal Fair

I have to mention that I also had a great experience with Themes and Motifs. They're very attentive to the needs of all the exhibitors and guests and the place was well-secured. I didn't know that joining a bridal fair is very fun. Of course, doing makeup for 2 days straight can be pretty tiring. In fact, I still have a hangover at this very moment :) I still feel sleepy after being in bed the entire day. But it was a success!

I'm looking forward to working with the couples who trusted me. See you guys soon!

Celebrate Father's Day Exceptionally!

Good morning everyone! I'm having a blast at the bridal fair so far. Chatting with couples who are invigorately planning their wedding and meeting fellow makeup artists and wedding suppliers is an overwhelming experience. I was super tired last night but I woke up early today excitingly preparing my things for the last day of the fair. But I won't miss the chance to post something for this special day for the dads out there.

If you're still in search for a different and memorable activity or place to spend with your dads and hubbies, Legend Villas is having a Father’s Day Special today which I think most dads will like:

Join the “Fastest Spaghetti Meatballs Eating Contest” on June 19, Sunday at 11:30am. The contest is open to all dine-in guests of the hotel’s Lola Maria Restaurant. Only the first 10 father and kid duo in good health can register and participate in the contest. Child must be 15 years old or below. Winners will receive an overnight stay at a Villa Suite Deluxe and other exciting prizes. You may also treat Dad to a sumptuous Filipino buffet for only P350. To top it all off, the first 50 Dads to dine in Lola Maria Restaurant will receive premium tokens. The Legend Villas is located along Pioneer Street in Mandaluyong City. For reservations and inquiries, call +6327022793 or visit Legend Villas website.

I wish I could go there with my "pasta-lover" hubby as I know he'll love this. Happy Father's Day again to all the daddies out there!

The Wedding Fair is Tomorrow already!

Just came from the ingress today. It was quite stressful but thank God for making it a success. Will take a photo of our booth tomorrow :) If you're a bride-to-be and in search for wedding suppliers...visit the The Philippine Wedding Summit at the PICC tomorrow from 10am to 8pm. Avail of discounts and promos if you book on site :) I'm at Forum 1 Booth F3 with fellow make-up artist, Joan Uy-Dacio.

Whew..the next 2 days will be a bit hectic so I won't be blogging that much. Wish me luck :)

Shangri-la Mactan The Second Time Around!

I can't believe we would be going back to this wonderland so soon. My hubby and I first visited Shangri-la Mactan when I was 5 months pregnant. We didn't want to travel that much then because of my condition so we opted to get a day tour at this place and spent the whole day at the beach and pigged-out. Just recently, we booked a flight to Cebu to attend my cousin's wedding. We weren't planning to go (as another trip this year would be way out of our budget) but I really don't want to miss my cousin's special day and have the opportunity to spend time with my closest relatives so when my dad offered to pay the plane fare, we booked a flight right away!

This time, we didn't have that much time to plan for our tip so we decided to spend another day at Shangri-la Mactan. Since, we fell in love with the place the first time and travelling with a very active toddler is quite difficult for me.

Nothing really changed except for the price of the day-tour package. The first time we went there it was P2000...now it's P2500. In just a span of 1.5 years I think! I wonder how much it'll cost us when we go back in 2 years maybe??? haha.

IMG_3173

Still has the nice, solemn atmosphere at the beach. Attentive staff...we didn't even feel worried leaving our stuff at the beach chair.

I was glad to see the fishes near the shore again. I'm still amazed that animals there are not afraid of people.

IMG_3167

I'm still satisfied with the lunch buffet..burp! But didn't notice a big change on the menu so I didn't bother to take photos :)

IMG_3115

But there are more choices for dessert this time. Yum yum!

IMG_3114

Happy family :)

IMG_3082

And oooh! The three of us used the pocket size sunblock from NIVEA. We didn't have any sunburns despite the heat that day. Thanks Nivea!

It was another memorable experience with Shangri-la Mactan. We wouldn't even doubt going back there on our next Cebu trip. But when that time comes, we'll have an overnight stay there instead. I bet that's going to be one hell of a vacation! We found out that they offer local rates for Philippine residents that are really affordable. So if you're planning to visit, call and ask for their local rates ok?

Portfolio: Hair and Makeup for Twinkle Fabros

I have been quite busy preparing my makeup artist portfolio so I have something to show the brides-to-be that I'll be meeting at the Themes and Motifs Bridal Fair this weekend. (Sorry I kept on plugging on my posts haha). While browsing my files, I saw the photos of my most recent hair and makeup gig for a photoshoot.

beauty_twinkle3

Our model's name is Twinkle Fabros. She's only 19 years old. Doing her hair and makeup was so effortless because she has nice skin, fine facial features and trouble-free long hair. The only thing I did is make her look a little bit more mature for the concept of the shoot.

Elisha Coy Always Nuddy BB 24 Review

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of update. I think I still have a hangover from our recent Cebu trip and I've been busy fixing my documents for the bridal fair this coming weekend. If you're coming, email me so I could give you a free entrance ok? :)

It's been a while since I've posted about BB cream. But since summer started, I found myself reaching for my Elisha Coy always Nuddy BB 24 that was given to me during my visit at Beauty and Butter nail art salon instead  of my usual liquid or cream foundations for everyday.

IMG_2478

Anti-irritant soothing care system of pure vegetable ingredients that make you feel comfortable on your skin!
Natural herbal ingredients such as natural herb, phellinus linteus, angelica gigas and mulberry root-bark make your tired skin clear and resilient.

It improves your dark skin and completes your natural, bare, subdued, porcelain-like makeup.

Baby soft skin for 24 hours without oily feeling!

Suitable for: All Skin Types

How to Use:

After applying basic skin care products, gently spread an appropriate amount on your forehead, nose, cheek, and chin, etc.
After spreading it softly, lightly pat it to make it absorbed. The cream covers blemishes naturally and evens skin tone.
Need not use makeup base or foundation separately.

Here's the reason why:

- I really felt like it was my second skin :)
- Did not experience any irritation.
- It's moisturizing but non-greasy.
- It brightens up my face nicely.
- I like the easy squeeze packaging.
- Light to medium coverage.

This is what I read in a magazine ad page while I'm having my nails done at Beauty and Butter: Elisha Coy BB Cream is popular in Japan. Said to be the secret for the Japanese women's porcelain skin.

Its only con for me is it doesn't have SPF that's why I always make sure to use a sunblock before I put this on my face. I think it's also available only in one shade only but it blends very well on the skin so I think it'll  be nice for women with medium to light skin tones.

Have you tried this product? What do you think?

Elisha Coy BB Cream is available locally at Beauty
and Butter Nail Art Salon Branches. Will update this
post for the price.

Father's day is coming up! Do you have a gift for the man of the house already?

When I signed up for the Themes and Motifs Bridal Fair this June 18-19, I didn't know that it's the Father's Day weekend. Sad that I won't be able to celebrate it with the whole family on that exact date but my hubby would accompany me to the fair. Yes! He supports me in doing what I love. He carries all my things and drives me to the hotel whenever I have wedding makeup gigs. That's why as early as now, I'm thinking of giving him something special. Lucky for me, I already know what he wants. For those who's still in the hunt for the perfect gift, here are some ideas that most men who are kid at heart would want:

Gift for dads

Let your spouse relive the fun-loving boy in him through toys that he grew up with and would still
love regardless of his age.

Gift for dads

get the experience with the authentic replica of Paul Rodriguez’s first training facility. Let him
hit the killer lines, smooth out sketchy landings and perfect each trick just by fingerboarding. .
Collect all the pieces and replicate the complete skate lab of P. Rod.

Gift for dads

Love NIVEA's Pocketsize Sunblock Lotion!

For our trip to the beach yesterday, I decided to bring the pocket size sunblock for kids sent to me by NIVEA. My hubby and I used it as well.

NIVEA Pocket Size Sunblock

I love that NIVEA came up with a pocket size version. I prefer it because it's very easy to bring.

IMG_3079

Liam was amazed with the number of fish we found near the shore of Shangri-la Mactan's beach

My baby was EXTRA ACTIVE ever since we landed here in Cebu and he was in the water all day even if the heat was a little bit intense yesterday afternoon.

IMG_3140

We changed color a bit but thanks to NIVEA we didn't get a sunburn!

Hope everyone's having a great day too!

Blogging From Cebu....

Hi everyone! As I mentioned in my last post, I went here at Cebu for my cousin's wedding yesterday. Now that it's over, I'll be having a blast with my boys until Wednesday.

A photo taken a while ago with my lil one at Shangri-la Mactan.

Will be back from regular blogging as soon as I get back in Manila :) Ciao!
