The Body Shop's Brush With Fashion Event

By this time, you've probably seen the new makeup line in The Body Shop's store display. Brush With Fashion spring makeup collection is a new limited edition makeup line of The Body Shop. It will only be available until end of March 2011 so read on if you don't wanna be left out of the latest offerings of The Body Shop.

With The Body Shop people and beauty bloggers at the Brush With Fashion Launch held at The Body Shop SM Megamall

When I arrived at the event, I immediately noticed this purple clutch bag on our table. I sneaked a peek to check what's inside:

Lipglosses and Tailored Cheek Tint - Php1,095

The Tailored Cheek Tint is one of a kind. If I'm going to purchase from this collection, I'd definitely get this one. It has only one shade but it adapts to the body temperature. According to TBS, it turns orange-y while pinkish to some. Because I've tried it a couple of times, I can say that it's very easy to use because it's a gel-type product and dries easily on the skin making it smudge-proof. I like that the blush appear naturally as well just like the Lip and Cheek tint.

Illuminating Face Base - Php 1,195

If you like the TBS Lightening Touch, you'll definitely love this one too. This one has a bigger brush incorporated to highlight larger areas more easily.

Boho Beauty Eye Shadow Quad - Php 2,195

The bag contains some of the products included in the collection.

Brush with Fashion. For this collection, The Body Shop collaborated with the London College of Fashion to create a new limited edition, cruelty-free and sustainable makeup. The products come in recyclable product packaging designed by Katarina Voloder, a first-year Fashion Illustration student at the London College of Fashion. According to Ann Massal, International Brand and Innovation Director for The Body Shop, this is "the first of an exciting series of partnerships with the world of fashion".

Notice that all of the products include an integrated brush, making them convenient for travel or touch ups on the go.

Mini Brush Kit - Php 1,495

And for the perks: For every P3500 worth of purchase from the collection, you'll get a free eco bag. I love the Brush with Fashion print with Mrs. AMW :)

And for a bigger purchase worth P8000, you'll get this very chic tote bag. Hmm...I must have something like this for my brushes.

A note to everyone: The Body Shop's campaign to stop sex trafficking is still ongoing. They will have a Run for this campaign this coming March 13, 2011. Visit or like their Facebook fanpage for more details.

During the event, we were given this box for the activity. I initially thought it was food!

But inside is a piece of shirt with Brush with Fashion logo and colors for us to play with.

Everyone was serious to finish their own masterpiece.

Here's my work of art hahaha :)

Thanks TBS for the wonderful event! I believe The Brush With Fashion Products are currently at 20% off. That means if you're an LYB member like me you'll get 40% off on your purchase from this collection. Yay! Let me know if you got one ok?

Watson's Sakurabella Launch

At the Watson's SakuraBella launch held a few weeks ago, guests were asked to come in a Japanese inspired outfit.

I opted to wear my favorite dress from Red Head with flower prints (I also have a pink version of this but I don't want to come to the event looking like the SakuraBella mascot :D) with my violet short-sleeved cardigan from FAB.

SakuraBella is the latest bath and body products of Watson's. This line is all infused with the Japanese cherry blossoms which are known to give the skin a youthful appearance and rosy glow and Clinelle which is a well-known skin care line.

Here are the current prices of these products:

* Watsons SakuraBella Shower Gel 500ml is formulated with Japanese Sakura extract. Its rich foaming lather deeply cleanses and conditions skin, leaving it soft and smooth and easy to rinse off. Php259.00

* Watsons SakuraBella Body Scrub 200ml is formulated with Japanese Sakura extract and is rich in glycerin and finely ground walnut shell particles. Php169.00

* Watsons SakuraBella Hand Body & Lotion 340ml is formulated with Japanese Sakura extract, Vitamin E and olive oil to nourish skin, keeping it soft and silky smooth. Php119.00

During the event, Watson's Sakurabella products were presented by models wearing Rhett Eala's latest collection under a cherry blossom tree. (Cool set-up by the way!)

Bianca Valerio of Lifestyle Asia hosted the event.

Models roamed around to let the guests try the products.

Brazilian-Japanese model Fabio Ide was there for the games, give Forever21 GC's and award the best-dressed winners.

Best dressed females

Celebrities Tweetie de Leon, Kate Toralba, Rizza Mananquil and Phoemela Baranda were also there.

It was a fun and grand event. I am currently loving the Sakurabella bodyscrub and hand and body lotion. Thanks Dens Congco of Watson's for the invite!

My Favorite False Eyelashes

For personal use, my favorite false eyelashes is the one available in Landmark. It doesn't have a brand so I call it "Landmark falsies" or "Spiky 1/2/3/4" depending on the length and thickness. It doesn't look plastic and priced very cheap (Php 39.75-59.75). I can even reuse it.

I only use falsies when I don't have the time to apply full makeup. For those who are not blessed with dazzling lashes like me, wearing falsies makes a huge difference already because it gives a more alluring effect to the eyes.

Do you use falsies? What is your favorite?

Eat-All-You-Can at Yakimix, Greenbelt

Yakimix Sushi Smokeless Grill has become the newest favorite buffet resto of the people we know. Because of the positive feedbacks we've heard about it, my hubby and I have been very eager to try. We're supposed to try it on our 2nd anniversary, but one Friday morning we saw the 499 lunch buffet on weekdays sign (we didn't breathe for a few seconds that time haha). Since we haven't taken our breakfast yet that day and P499 is way cheaper compared to their P580 price on weekends, we gave it a go!

The branch featured in this post is in Greenbelt.

Yakimix opens at 11 am. We were there 10:45 am and we were the first to reserve so we got the nicest seat near the sushi and dessert area. I was surprised how Yakimix got filled with people in just a few minutes!

Yakimix staff preparing the smokeless grille stove. I didn't smell like food after because of this :)

Cutie high chair for kids. I hesitated to put my baby there at first but when I found out how to fasten it properly, it's steady and secure (considering that my baby is very active!)

I wasn't able to take photos of all the food though because a staff told me that taking photos of the food from the buffet tables is prohibited. Food photos here are only those we tried :)

They have a wide selection of sushi. I tried to get 1 of each kind (I think!). This plate made me so full already.

Marinated raw foods to grill

Some people say that they find the taste of Yakimix grilled food a bit bland. Since it was our first time, my hubby asked a staff to assist us in making the sauce for the grilled foods. We don't know what sauces she mixed but it was so good.

Tempura and other Korean dishes

They also have many choices for desserts. Some are just too sweet that we had a hard time finishing it because we were so bloated already. I suggest you get the red ribbon cakes and Selecta ice cream with toppings.

Even though the place was jam-packed that day, the staff was very attentive and accommodating. Overall, a visit to Yakimix Sushi Smokeless Grill restaurant is worth it. It surely is a great place for large groups since the ambiance is great for gatherings while enjoying great food.

Yakimix Buffet Prices:
P 499 Lunch Buffet Monday to Saturday
P 580 Dinners, Sunday and holiday lunches
P55 for drink-all-you-can.
P380 Kids below 4 ft.
