Wedding Airbrush Makeup: Mikaela

Like my previous bride Bess, Mikaela booked my makeup services without having a trial makeup. I'm loving and enjoying my work more and more as I meet more people who believes and trusts me. I'm blessed and very thankful! I promise to continue honing my skills and gain more knowledge for more happy brides in the future.

Mikaela's skin is very nice. It was so smooth and poreless! Inggit much.
Her only concern is her undereyes. She told me that it always cakes whenever someone does her makeup. So I purchased the Smashbox Moisturizing Undereye Primer for her as it is very good for people who have dry undereyes. I also advised her to start moisturizing weeks prior her wedding. And it worked as her makeup stayed beautiful until the end.

They got married at Sacred Heart Parish Church. I used to hear mass there every Sunday during my elementary and highschool days. I'm glad that because of my work as a makeup artist, I was able to go back and reminisce fun memories.

Wedding Makeup: Bess and Reggie (May 18, 2013)

I haven't blogged about my work in a while. Well...I'm promising myself now to do that more often because there are just so many memorable weddings and pretty brides to share. I'll start with my most recent wedding gig as the memory is still very fresh on my mind. Bess was one of the brides who booked me for their wedding without trial makeup. Honestly, I'm quite flattered when that happens because it makes me feel that the bride trusts me and believe in my skill (nax! haha). But one look at Bess...effortless beauty. She's already stunning even without makeup. Here are the photos I took using my Cherry Mobile Titantv phone:

Bess' only request for her bridal makeup: not to look her face "matapang". Because that's her experience mostly when she has her makeup done by someone else. So I focused more on highlighting her best features. I also fixed her brows and made sure not to overdo it.

Products used:

Face:
Temptu SB Primer
Temptu SB Airbrush Makeup 04
Shu Uemura Loose Powder
Ben Nye Matte Setting Spray

Eyes:
MUD Eyeshadow Champagne for her lids
MAC soft brown to blend the endges
MUFE taupe color to contour the eyes
Elizabeth Arden Vanilla Eyesadow to highlight the brows
MUFE Eyebrow Corrector for her brows set with MAC Boy Girl

Cheeks:
Graftobian cream blush
Shiseido Camellia Compact

Lips:
MAC Pro Longwear in Love Forever

For Bess' second hairstyle for their reception program, I did a side-swept hairstyle. She'll be dancing so I opted for that style to keep the hair sleek even with the dance movements.

Watch also their same day edit by Lightshapers here. It's very nice!

I also did Bess' prenup hair and makeup. Here's a profile picture taken during their prenup session:

I also was touched when I got this text from them this morning. This inspired me to write more about my work on this blog because my brides have become part of my life already and I want to remember them always.

Dakasi: My love for milk tea is back!

My milk tea addiction is back. Oh no! Yes...oh no because I've been trying to maintain my weight since the Good HouseKeeping Wedding Dress Challenge ended (will talk about it once the issue comes out in June).

I've been curious about Dakasi, since my friends in Instagram (add me up! kimrodz) kept on raving about it. But I didn't try it and kept my promise to myself. And I thought I completely forgot about milk teas. Until I was invited by Liz to do hair and makeup for Dakasi's photoshoot in Pampanga. I got to taste the Classic Bubble Milk Tea and Okinawa during the photoshoot and men! it's so good. For me, all the milk teas taste the same that's why during my addiction, I was loyal to Bubbatealicious which I think is the cheapest but taste like Chatime of Gongca (for me) or sometimes Happy Lemon because they're kinda different. But Dakasi is so much tastier, milkier (for some flavors), and addictive!

And almost every week after that makeup gig, my hubby and I taste different flavors of Dakasi's milk tea. We try to limit to one milk tea a week just to satisfy our cravings.

Here are some photos from our shoot in Pampanga. Hair and Makeup by yours truly. It was a very fun shoot and milk tea tasting!

If you're a Dakasi newbie and needs recommendations, here are my current favorites: Matcha Brown Rice Milk Tea with pearls or choco pudding (my baby loves it too...I don't know if it's alright to give a toddler milk tea but he grabs it from me). The matcha and the roasted rice crispies is a perfect combination. My hubby and I also loved the Peach Yakult with Aloe Vera. We order this when we are feeling guilty drinking milk tea. We feel this is healthier and good for digestion. Strawberry Au Lait is also one of my favorites. It's not too sweet nor sour.
