Hair Tutorial: How to Create a Messy Low Bun

Last February, I did hair and makeup for a couple's Save The Date Video shoot for their wedding at Subic Lighthouse. For the first layout, the couple's attire was formal and the location was at the grassfield beside the resort. I decided to do a messy low bun for her hairstyle as it suits her dress, face and the location itself. Here's how it turned out:

I think the not-too-made-up look is very nice. It was VERY windy at the location that day so it's good to see some flow on her hair that matches the groom-to-be's. Also, it's something different from the hairstyle I'm planning to do on her wedding.

If you want to learn how to do this hairstyle, keep on reading :)

Things you'll need:

Any curling tool: rollers, flat iron, curling iron. I used a Vidal Sassoon Barrel Curling Iron.

Bobby pins and rubber band

Step 1: Make sure to blow-dry your hair well. Then curl it.

Step 2: Create a low ponytail. If you want that messy look, just finger brush your hair.

Step 3: Style the curls to form a bun. You can do it curl-by-curl or in this case, I just flipped the hair clockwise.

Step 4: Pin the ends to secure the hair. Finish the style with hairspray.
