Hi everyone! First of all, I would like to thank those who joined my contest already. For those who are interested, it's still open until Dec 6 :)

I received some great news on my email today:

UNICEF signs joint communique with religious leaders to promote exclusive breastfeeding

Responding to the clarion call for the world’s community of faiths to actively participate in the global challenge of improving the lives and welfare of children, the Religions for Peace, Philippines (RfPPhil), the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines-Episcopal Commission on Inter-Religious Dialogue (CBCP-ECID) and UNICEF Philippines recently came together in a collective effort to celebrate the National Day of Prayer and Action for Children in Makati City. They enjoin the government, private businesses, civil society, international partners, child-rights advocates, and all the different faiths to be part of this undertaking and work together towards promoting child survival and maternal health and take actions towards promoting, supporting and protecting the national breastfeeding policy as a means to improving child survival and nutritional status. Present during the signing of the joint communiqué were (standing from left): Eileen Aquino; Ted Francisco, Communication and Advocacy Specialist UNICEF; Dr. Marisa Ricardo, Health Specialist, UNICEF; Dr. Pura Rayco-Solon, Nutrition Specialist, UNICEF; Bong Baybado, CBCP Representative; (seated from left) Fr. Luke Moortgat of CBCP Episcopal Commission on Health Care; Vanessa Tobin, UNICEF Country Representative; and Dr. Lilian Sison of Religions for Peace, Philippines.

Estee Lauder

And for those who's planning to hoard some Estee Lauder products, now is the best time for you to do that. Because until Dec. 31, Estee Lauder Philippines is giving away a free bag (see photo above) for every P7000 worth of purchase. Pretty right? I'm sure if my mom is here, she'll love this bag and I'm gonna ask for the products hehe.

Hoping there's more good news to come!

Win a Free Acne Clearing Facial From AE Scultura!

Hi! It's a holiday here in the Philippines so I hope most of my readers are having a blast. Anyways, I won an Acne Clearing Facial GC at the Fanny Serrano event I attended last week. November is my lucky month noh? haha. But I won't be needing this treatment as my skin is slightly cooperating with me for the past few weeks (Thank God!) so might as well let others who needs/wants have this.

AE Scultura

AE Scultura clinic is located at Panay Ave. South Triangle QC. For my friends abroad, I'm so sorry but I can offer this contest to Philippine residents only. So for those who are near this area or who are willing to travel to try their Acne Clearing Facial, here's how to join:

1) Follow my blog.
2) Comment on this post.

Simple right? This GC is valid for the entire month of December '10. I will raffle and announce the winner on December 6.

Good luck!

Revisit: Charlie's

My husband knows how eager I am to try the Cheese Steak at Charlie's. I've mentioned in my first Charlie's post that aside from the Black Angus Burger, this US Cheese Steak is gaining an equal popularity. And so last Saturday, he surprised me with another Charlie's date haha.

charlie's

US Cheese Steak - Php 325

Cheesy soft and juicy beef topped with salsa and jalapeno. I like it so much! It's just a bit messy to eat because it's huge and stuffed with lots of ingredients. Price is pretty steep but for the size and quality of taste, it's worth it! Yes another rave about Charlie's from me haha

charlie's

I liked the Chili Fries I had during my first visit but it's a bit above the spiciness my taste buds can handle. So this time, we had the Cheesy Fries instead. Big cuts of potatoes flooded with cheese. Yummy! "Hindi tinipid", that's one thing I love about this resto.

charlie's

My husband had his usual Black Angus Burger.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Event: A Sneak Peak on Fanny Serrano's Hair Care Collection

I am a user of Fanny Serrano cosmetics. I personally love the concealer and the eyelash curler which is famous to be the dupe of Shu Uemura's. TF gave me the impression of his products being of high quality yet inexpensive. If you got fascinated with his cosmetics line like me, here's something to be excited about:

Fanny Serrano is coming up with his new professional hair care collection this December which will be available at all Watsons stores.

TF did it again. Another line of affordable products for the masses of great quality. Heard that this hair care line will be tagged below Php 200 only. I am very honored to be the first ones to try them.

Revitalizing Shampoo (Red) - for treated hair. Contains micro proteins from malunggay that gives strengthening, repairing and protecting effects.

I like the scent of the blue and green variants. I never get tired of smelling them!

Hair Styling Products

Shape Shifter Clay/Matte Hard Wax

Models were asked to test the products for a month (some for just a week). Then, they were asked to come to the event with their hair just air-dried. This made me decided to stick to these products for a month because I was amazed with the results. Will update you guys next month on how they worked on me.

I'm really interested to the Shape Shifter Clay. According to Junjun, hairstylist of Fanny Serrano Salon, it's easy to wash off unlike any other clays. Most guys will say "Oh no!" when they know you're using a clay to style their hair as it takes more than 2 showers to remove it.

Models roamed around to let the people feel the new texture of their hair.

Of course! I wouldn't leave the events place without having a photo with TF. He's an icon! Despite all the success and fame he got, he remained humble and hard-working.

Thanks TF and Watsons! More power!

How To Make Your Blush Last All Day?

A blush is important to make your face look fresh and perked up. However, very seldom you could find a product that lasts more than 6 hours on your cheeks. In fact, I haven't found one haha. But whatever blush brand I have whether it is cheap or expensive, I could make it last all day by using a good base. Like any other type of makeup you put on your face, you need a good and properly applied base to make it last longer. For the cheek color, you need either a cheek tint or cream blush for your base. As for me, I use the latter as the powder product sticks easily to a cream. I have used several cream blushes like In2it and Elianto. But one product I currently love is the Graftobian cream blush palette.

graftobian cream blush

If I remember correctly, this palette costs P1500 or slightly higher than that. It's very pigmented and it has all the colors I need for different skin tones. The price is almost the same as the other branded cream blushes and it already has 5 colors in it. I've been using it A LOT lately for makeup gigs and look at how much product is left.

What I like about this product is that it looks natural and matte. Perfect for bridal makeup and beauty shots. I've used this on brides and it lasts from the hotel preparation to the end of the program. You could apply it either by using your fingers, sponge or foundation brush. I like using my Beauty Blender in applying this.

Here's a sample of my work using this cream blush when I took up the Airbrush Makeup Course at HD Makeup Studio and Academy.

Do you use a cream blush to make your blush last longer? What brand do you like?

Estee Lauder Re-Nutritiv Experience

Last Tuesday, I travelled all the way to The Fort Bonifacio to have a scrumptious dinner at Establishment prepared by Estee Lauder Philippines for the launch of their Re-Nutritiv Ultimate Lift Age Correcting Cream, Serum and Eye Cream.

Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder

The event theme was Black and Platinum. I wore the Black dress that is comfortable for breastfeeding and pumping which I got from SM Department Store. Then I accessorized it with a Silver long necklace.

Estee Lauder

I've never used a luxurious skin care my entire life. I was in awe when Ms. Liz of Estee Lauder was explaining to us the wonders of this cream. A full pot of the cream costs Php 12,500 while the serum is Php 13,500. Intrigued why such cream and serum is valuable?

Estee Lauder

Estee Lauder Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting Crème instantly restore, recharge, and repair skin's empowered appearance. It contains extraordinary ingredients proven to support skin's vitality and function such as the "Rock of Life" Algae, EGT (a supercharged anti-oxidant), and Silketare. More information on these Life Renewing Molecules here.

Estee Lauder

We experienced a luxurious dinner as well with a background soft music perfect for the ambiance of the Establishment.

Estee Lauder

With a black and platinum theme, the Estee Lauder team decorated the place perfectly.

My shots of the food that we had that nights:

For my main dish, I had Baked Cream Dory with Mediterranean Tapenade

For my dessert: Pistachio Jateu de Lupe

After dinner, we got to try the cream with a relaxing hand massage. I like how different the skin feels instantly after application and the scent is nice but now overpowering.

Got to peek at the Gift Sets Estee Lauder is offering for this season:

Pleasures to go Php 3500

Estee Lauder

Lifting Firming Set Php 4500, Hydration Set Php 4500 and Anti-Wrinkle Essentials Set Php 4850

Nikki and Shen

Estee Lauder

L-R me, Brigette, Ms. Liz of Estee Lauder, Liz of ProjectVanity, Nikki and Shen. (missing Phoebe :))

I personally do not invest on expensive skin care products. But if you find something that really works well and makes a difference on your skin, I think it's worth allotting a huge part of your budget to it. As with great skin, you'll need lesser makeup on and you'll feel more confident about yourself.

Thanks Estee Lauder!

New Scent: Beyonce's HEAT Perfume

I won't miss a chance to be part of something related to Beyonce. Yes I'm a fan! I even loved her more when I saw her perform live when she came to have a concert here in the Philippines last November '07. I can't believe it has been 3 years already.

So I travelled all the way to SM Mall of Asia last Tuesday to witness the launch of Beyonce's first fragrance named "HEAT".

The event was hosted by Ms. Andy Manzano of Magic 89.9. Such a pretty girl with a pretty voice!

The Kitty Girls turned up the heat by performing a number of Beyonce hits.

Girls and hunks roamed around to let us sniff this new scent. The Main Atrium of SM Mall of Asia smelled really good that day huh!

Inside this red gradient bottle is a sweet, floral, woody empowering scent. I've been using since the event and I'm loving it. Aside from the smell that pleases me, its long lasting power with just 3 sprays is one factor I appreciate about it.

With Andy Manzano and Mrs. AMW Nikki. Thanks for letting me grab the pic!

Thank you also to Prestige Brands and Maan Perez for inviting me.

This scent is available at Marionnaud and Beauty by SM. I've already seen some Beyonce HEAT booths at SM Malls lately. Have you tried it? What's your take?
