Hair and Makeup Work for Real Moms Campaign

A few months ago, I was hired to do hair and makeup for a campaign shoot by Janice and Candice of Mommy Matters. I was so honored not only by meeting four of the top mommy bloggers in the Philippines: OC Mom in Manila, The Painter's Wife, Mommy Treats and Dainty Mom but also by prettifying them even more for the shoot. I also had a lot of fun working with their kids....cuties!

Wedding: Jhoanne and Lark

I spent the last weekend on two wedding gigs. I don't have that much photos of my wedding gig last Saturday because the bride was too shy and doesn't want to have her photos posted online and I respect that. Last Sunday was the wedding of my sister-in-law's sister's wedding and she got me as her makeup artist for her wedding day.

Jhoanne was a hands-on bride. She was the one who did almost all the preparations for her wedding with the help of her friends and family in coordinating things on-the-day. And I know she's very happy because everything went smoothly. The preps was fun because Jhoanne and I are of the same age and there's just so much to talk about. Plus I've known their family for so long already.

I always bring my camera during wedding gigs so I have photos of my work haha :) Here are some of my shots at the church:

Wedding Makeup: Soraya and Harvey April 15, 2012

I met Soraya last January at the Weddings and Beyond bridal fair where we had a trial makeup. A month after, she booked me to do her makeup for her wedding held last Sunday. She wants a very natural makeup and her concerns are her oily skin, how to make her chinky eyes pop and a few pimple scars.

For her oily skin, I made sure to prep her with the anti-shine cream by Smashbox, an oil-free primer by Laura Mercier and set her makeup by Graftobian makeup setting spray. These things help minimize the oilies and the setting spray made her makeup water-resistant and smudge-proof. Since it was super duper hot last Sunday, oilies still show but just one blot of tissue and makeup is fresh again :D

For her eyes, Soraya asked me to use silver for the eyeshadow. I used a darker color on her eyelids blending it upwards with a silver shade on the crease area to make her eye pop and of course with the help of false eyelashes.

For her pimple marks, I use a waterproof concealer from Makeup Forever.

Loved her gown by Vanessa Ang. Perfect fit on Soraya!

I also did the makeup of her mom, the groom's mom and her aunt. For more photos of my work, visit my FB Portfolio.

Updates and Cinema Secrets Giveaway winner!

Hello everyone! Sorry for being absent in the blog world for a couple of weeks. Here are some things that kept me occupied for the past couple of months:

Family time before the holy week....(We spent the holy week quietly with rest, prayer and meditation)

Shot at Buon Giorno Tagaytay. Pau and I love that place super. Great ambiance and super delicious Italian food. When we're in Tagaytay, we prefer experiencing things not available here in Manila.

They make me happy all the time!

Especially this cute little one! I'm amazed on how smart he's becoming day by day.

Of course, it's a must to be busy with makeup gigs. I love what I'm currently doing for a loving super!

A prenup shot of Kaye and Eugene. Kaye is one of my favorite March brides and my favorite. Very pretty, has very good skin (no pores! inggit ako), soft-spoken and nice. Love this couple! I'm excited to get the official photos of their wedding.

Xhan rapunzel debutante this April. We had to put tons of hair expensions to make her hair look like waist-length.

The party was held at Casa Manila Patio. Great place for small events.

Prenup of Soraya. I'm excited to do her makeup for her wedding this Sunday.

I miss Ianne! Did her makeup a couple of times before her wedding. This was taken at Baluarte at Intramuros. I love garden weddings!

I have a lot to show you in the upcoming posts, but if you want to see them in advance ^-^, visit my FB portfolio where I post my works up-to-date.

And now it's time to announce the winner of my Cinema Secrets giveaway...sorry for the little delay. But super thanks to the ladies who took time to join. Love you girls.
