A Taylor Swift Hairstyle Peg

Last week, I was invited by my HMUA friend, Krista, to do hair and makeup for a company event at Makati Shangri-la Hotel. I didn't know that my camera battery was low so I was only able to take one after shot of my work for that day haizzzzz. But still thankful I got one nice shot.

The client showed me this photo of Taylor Swift as her peg for her hair. As for her makeup, she wanted a clean look with red lippie.

They said that her hair looked almost exactly like her peg hehe. What do you think?

Wedding Hair and Makeup: KC and Danielle 11.11.11

Hi everyone! I'm sorry for the lack of updates lately. I've been busy with motherhood and with my freelance career lately :) But I'm trying my very best to keep you updated with what's going on with my life at least once a week. For the commenter of the month last October, I'm still gathering the info so please be patient with me haha.

Last 11.11.11, I did hair and makeup for a wedding at Manila Peninsula.

I arrived an hour lately and while waiting for the couple to check in at their room, I took a short tour at the hotel since it was my first time there. It was very very nice inside Manila Peninsula. The ambiance and the place is very cozy. All the staff were very friendly and good-looking too :D

While waiting for the bride to be ready, I took photos of what my usual workstation at the hotel looks like :D

IMG_5223

The bride's gown is not the typical off-white/white gown. It was a nice greyish silver.

Their baby very fond of the lights on my makeup mirror.

Here's the bride's before shot. I wasn't able to take the after shot on the same angle because we were pressed for time.

The ceremony was held at the Nuestra Senora Guadalupe. Once of the best churches in Manila for photoshoots. This church is just so photogenic :D

The bride provided hair extensions for me to put on. She wanted a waist length hair and it turned out so natural and elegant.

These are my after shots. KC preferred her makeup to be clean and simple. No eyeliners and just a hint of blush. I think the flawless, no-makeup look is perfect for her because it fits her personality too.

Thank you KC and Danielle! It was a pleasure to be part of your very special day. God Bless your family :)

Covergirl Bullet Lipstick Swatches 2

Here's the 2nd batch of the Covergirl bullet lipsticks I have: Flame Flamme, Heavenly Paradisiaque and Hot Passion. Because of Flame Flamme and Hot Passion, I got addicted to rep lippies. Flame Flamme is bright red while the Hot Passion is sort of vampiry red (according to my hubby!) While I like wearing Heavenly Paradisiaque during daytime because it's a very nice nudy pink.

I don't think I'll be needing more lipsticks soon haha :)

Covergirl Lipstick Bullets Pinks and Corals: Mini Review and Swatches

I am not a lipstick person. But one product impressed me so much that it has been a staple in my makeup traincase. I'm totally hooked! And the product I'm talking about is the newly released bullet lipsticks of Covergirl. I got more shades of pink and corals so I have more options for bridal makeup gigs.

Scroll down for swatches.

Why I like it:

- Color selections are so pretty
- Staying power is superb! Especially the darker ones. It leaves a stain on your lips even after drinking or eating. And it's kinda hard to remove ha! Perfect for bridal :)  I've never experienced this with a lipstick below P500.
- Non-drying. According to CG, it actually softens lips because of its Silk Therapy Complex which is a moisturizing property that goes beyond application. It sustains moisture levels on the lips to actually improve lip condition over time. In over a month of usage, I hardly notice improvement on my lips' texture. But compared when I was using long-wearing lip colors from other brands, this one doesn't hurt or cause chapped lips.
- Priced P395. Affordable!

What I don't like?
- Hmmm I can't think of any. CG Bullet lipsticks comes in matte and frosted colors. I've read reviews that some do not like the frosted ones. For me, I like the ones I got. It's just a matter of preference. With the huge selection of shades, I'm sure you could find one that compliments your skin tone.
- Shades are always out of stock! But congratulations to CG! This new lipstick line is very saleable! So be sure to check the CG counters often if you're eyeing for a particular shade especially the Hot Passion (the one Drew Barrimore was wearing on the ad)

I doubted this one for a second because it looked too pale when I swatched it. But with the right base, color turns out to be very pretty.

I actually got a few more but got tired of swatching. I'll let my lips rest for a while :) Watch out for the next batch.
