Outfit post: At the Johnson & Johnson event

Here's what I wore at the Johnson & Johnson's event I attended last Wednesday at Edsa Shangri-la Hotel:

Johnson's Milk Bath Launch

Top: Plains and Prints - my hubby surprised me with coupons he bought from Megadeals. It was super worth it! Plains and Prints.
Genie Pants from SM Department Store. I thought I could pull off this type of pants because I was wearing high heels from Ferretti (I asked the photog for a full body shot but unfortunately he didn't include the shoes hehe...next time na lang) but I looked so fat in the photo.

I looked too shiny and all. Maybe because of Estee Lauder's Illuminating products I've been trying lately...but my face wasn't that sparkly that day..hmmm maybe because of the lighting or maybe because of my shiny outfit haha. But I don't care. I only get to exaggerate my look once in a while.

Check out my mommy blog to know more about the event and Johnson & Johnson's newest endorser!

Happy weekend guys!

Check Out What's New from VMV: Tarte-a-tan

Makeup that is healthy to the skin? That would be a wonder product from a beauty addict's perspective. I don't know why I haven't tried a lot of VMV products but a number of people I know who have sensitive skin swear by this brand. And recently, they released another exciting product called Tarte-a-tan:

VMV Hypoallergenics has always been known for their VH-Rating System—VMV INVENTED IT, after all: VH-Numbers can significantly reduce the risk of cosmetic contact dermatitis and other reactions in consumers. But the term “hypoallergenic” may be confusing and associated with claims like “dermatologist tested”, “skin safe” and “natural” as we see that in most products nowadays. One thing that convinced me is that a study on this so called VH-Rating System was published in the March/April 2011 issue of Dermatitis (the journal of the American Contact Dermatitis Society) proving its legitimacy at regulating the hypoallergenic claim. One important confirmation of the data in the study is that VMV PRODUCTS HAD LESS THAN ZERO POINT ONE PERCENT OF REACTIONS REPORTED IN 30 YEARS. Awesome!

For those who are unfamiliar of the brand, let me share with you a brief introduction of VMV Hypoallergenics:

Created in 1979, VMV
Hypoallergenics has a remarkable track record of excellence and innovation. VMV has a proprietary, one-of-akind rating system for hypoallergenicity, which works like the “SPF” system but for hypoallergenicity. All VMV product claims are supported by evidence-based clinical studies – including randomized, double-blind, in vitro and in vivo studies – many of which have appeared in dermatological publications, and VMV patch tests every product, as well as every ingredient and raw material used in its formulations. The company’s track record and results have made VMV a safe product alternative in CAMP, the Contact Allergen Management Program of the American Contact Dermatitis Society

Congratulations to VMV and please continue bringing us wonder beautifying products!

GIVEAWAY ALERT: Win NIVEA Pure and Natural and Express Hydration Products

When I chose to breastfeed my baby, I abruptly shifted to a natural and healthy lifestyle. It's not a total change but I became careful of what I eat, drink and use on myself because I know that what my body absorbs, my baby gets as well.

When it comes to food, I preferred eating healthier foods like vegetables and fruits over my favorite french fries and hamburgers. When I do grocery, I choose to buy organic vegetables and other organic cooking ingredients. When I get sick, I take organic medicines. And when it comes to girl stuff, I use organic soaps, lotions an deodorants like the NIVEA pure and natural action line.

Now it's your time to share your healthy and natural lifestyle to get a chance to win these items from NIVEA:

For Sale: OCC Lip Tars

Obssessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Lip Tars. There was such a huge hype when they were first released. I said in my last post about OCC that they're a bit tricky to apply because you'll only need a diminutive amount to cover your entire lips. But once you get the technique, the colors are very pretty, pigmented and long-lasting. I hoard a lot of stocks when my dad recently visited the Philippines for my kids birthday. But until now I haven't used some of them because I'm focusing on bridal makeup recently. That's the reason why I'm selling them :) Check out the following items then if you like it, email me at kimrodriguez@thebeautyaddict.com to know how you could purchase:

Achieve a radiant skin with Estee Lauder's Idealist Cooling Eye and Face Illuminator

Degustation at The Goose Station

Can you read the words engraved in the mirror? It says "Imagine having nothing to hide". Most women use makeup and concealer to cover acne marks, dark under eyes, skin discolorations and other imperfections. For some women who doesn't have that much skin dilemma, they wear makeup to add more radiance to their skin.

Our friends from Estee Lauder were very excited to introduce to us two of their new products: Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator and Face Illuminator to address those concerns. It was a huge hit in the US and apparently, the first batch of stocks here in the Philippines has been sold out in just a few days. They've prepared for that expected demand so for those who are planning to get, don't worry!

Degustation at The Goose Station

I attended the launch of these products held at The Goose Station, Fort Bonifacio last Thursday. The food experience prepared to us by the Estee Lauder team deserved a separate post so watch out for it. As for now, I'll talk about these products:

Degustation at The Goose Station

Estee Lauder's Idealist Cooling Eye Illuminator

According to Estee Lauder, there are three key sources that lead to dark circles and puffiness: Lack of micro-circulation/weak capillary structure, hyperpigmentation and irritation. That's why they came up with this product that instantly brightens and blurs the imperfections of the eye-area's skin surface and neautralize the look of discoloration. It promises visible results (improved look of dark circles and puffiness) in just two weeks and a more dramatic improvement with continued use.

What's interesting about this product is its patent-pending specially-contoured ceramic tip applicator. It is used to massage the cream on the eye area.

Here's a photo of me trying this product for the first time. The cool feeling it gives helps re-energize the look of tired-puffy eyes. I like it!

This is available in two shades: Light and Medium. SRP: Php 3,200

Estee Lauder's Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator. This is an intensive, oil-free serum specifically designed for Asian skin that promises a more even and radiant skin tone in just 2 weeks.

Celeteque Advanced Anti-Wrinkle Ultra-Hydrating Cleanser Light Cleansing Oil

During extraordinary days, I like wearing waterproof makeup. That's why Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil is my favorite when it comes to makeup removers as it wipes off waterproof makeup effortlessly. When the Celeteque Anti-Aging Trio was introduced to bloggers a few months ago, the Anti-Wrinkle Untra Light Cleansing Oil was the one I was most excited to try as it seems to be a cheaper dupe of my much loved product.

Celeteque Cleansing Oil

Celeteque Advanced Anti-Wrinkle Ultra-Hydrating Cleanser Light Cleansing Oil -- Effectively removes makeup, deep-seated dirt and impurities while maintaining the skin's natural level of moisture, instantly leaving the skin velvety soft and dewy without the greasy after-feel. It is clinically proven to deliver marked improvement in skin smoothness and reduction of lines with continued use.

How to use: Gently apply on your dry face in a circular motion. Wash it with lukewarm water to ensure that oil is thoroughly rinsed off. You can also use it everyday for thorough cleansing. Just use a few drops on a cotton ball and apply to face and neck to remove make-up and deep-seated dirt.

Here's how I use it:

Celeteque Cleansing Oil

My stressed eyes with smudged makeup. If you follow me on twitter @kimbabot, I went to an event at The Goose Station, Fort Bonifacio a while ago. I knew it was a secluded place so I prayed not to get lost as it was my first time to drive going to that area. Hurray I arrived there with no hurdle!....but I got lost going back haha. So can you just imagine how stressed I was? I just kept on driving until I reached EDSA...I thought I was going South already haha. God still loves me as I was able to go home with no MMDA trouble.

Celeteque Cleansing Oil

Enough blabbing...here's what I do to remove my makeup: 1) I put a few drops on a cotton ball 2) Gently press it on my lids for at least 10 seconds.

Celeteque Cleansing Oil

Tadah! Here's how it removed my makeup without wiping the cotton.

As skin care: I can't find the link but I've read somewhere that if you can skip your moisturizer at night by leaving this on your face after wiping off the dirt as it has anti-wrinkle and hydrating properties. However, I can't sleep with an oily feeling on my face so I wash this off with a facial wash. If I sometimes find the oil a bit hard to remove, I wash my face twice :) After that, my skin is clean and soft already.

I also like that I never had skin reactions using it and it has no weird scent. When it comes to wrinkles, I can't attest to that yet sorry!

As a makeup remover: This is a very effective makeup remover. However, for waterproof makeup, I find that I use a lot of product and step repetitions to completely remove it. But who cares, it's only P199 for 50 ml and P369 for 100ml! It does what expensive products do with just a tiny con.

Overall, this is a product worth trying. It works and it's really affordable. Thanks to Unilab for offering another great product to us!

asiansecrets

Asian Secrets introduced their new celebrity endorser Solenn Heusaff at SM Makati Beaute last Saturday. I didn't know she got injured recently but there she was working happily. Solenn was strikingly beautiful! When asked what her secret to beautiful skin, she said "soap". She uses it even for her hair. Unfortunately, no one was brave enough to ask what brand it is she uses. Hmmm thinking of asking her on her Twitter page hehe.

Anyways, it's no secret that I loved Asian Secrets Lulur. I first encountered it when Liz introduced it to bloggers with a spa treat. It has gentle scrubs and formulation that effectively whitens dark spots. I love the fresh and relaxing scent too.

Some bits of my life :)

Lately, I find myself singing "Living La Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin. My hubby laughs every time he hears me do that because according to him "I'm already living the dream life!" -- I am my own boss, I get to choose whether to go out, to work or to stay at home with my baby. In short, I choose what I want to do haha. But sometimes, I feel it's not yet enough. My current setup is still my ideal way of life:

- I miss my hubby. He used to work from home but he's now back to the corporate world. I wish we could make our business huge so we could go back to our old setup.

IMG_3642

Recently, he gave me a pair of Janilyn boots. This pair is so comfy! Loveet!

IMG_3643

One time, he surprised me with a deal from Plains and Prints he bought for me. Isn't he the sweetest?

- I want to think that I'm already successful in my chosen field of work. I sometimes earn more than what I used to get as a full time employee. And I sometimes get awesome perks like this:

IMG_3638

I got these new pairs of shoes from the GC I got for hairstyling at the Ferretti campaign shoot. I'm really happy with the shoes I got! Makes me feel fasyon! haha

But of course, there are pros and cons being a freelance makeup artist. I won't have money if I don't do things to meet potential clients. So this September, I'll join Themes and Motifs bridal fair again :)

For brides-to-be, message me if you want to get free pass ok? :)

- I love how my blog turned out after 2 years of maintaining it. Although, I know there are still a lot of things to be improved and I need to make time to be able to update this religiously, I am thankful to the people who constantly visits this blog! This helped a lot with my business and gave me some perks that sometimes light up my gloomy day. A few days ago, I received this on my mail:

IMG_3627

Societe de Kerastase. With this membership card, I can earn 1 point for every P100 purchase which I can later exchange for discounts or another product. This will also be my pass for private sales, private events, and first-hand news and treats Kerastase will have to offer. God knows how I love Kerastase! Their products really work.

Whenever I feel that life is not enough, I just count these blessings.

These makes me realize that God loves me so much for letting me do what makes me happy and for giving me two loving angels in my life.

If you're having a manic Monday...do the same haha :)

A Postpaid Plan I've Long Been Waiting For!!!

Hi everyone! I'm finally getting better :) Still has a little cough but regained my 80% energy.

Onto the topic, I've been using a prepaid SIM ever since I got my first cellphone :) I find it more practical than getting a postpaid plan. But since I decided to be a fulltime as a makeup artist and entrepreneur, I get constant inquiries and most of the time needs to make urgent calls. Prepaid just don't work anymore as I tend to spend more than my allotted  budget. I've been contemplating on the different plans telecoms are offering but still can't decide which is the best. But my heart jumped when I read an email today from SMART Communications:
